Legendary actress Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the emergency room on Monday after suffering from breathing difficulties.
Two days after she celebrated her 99th birthday, the Moulin Rouge star was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital.
Her ninth husband Frederic von Anhalt revealed to TMZ a doctor had come to the couple’s home and removed mucus from her throat, but it was then decided she should be taken to hospital.
TMZ told how Gabor – who has not been seen in public for years – has been diagnosed with a feeding tube-related lung infection and is scheduled to undergo surgery to have her breathing tube removed.
She was previously hospitalised after developing a severe throat infection in 2012 and a year earlier her right leg was amputated above the knee after doctors found an infection and antibiotics failed to cure it.
