Sandra Bullock has confirmed she has become a mom to a three and a half year old daughter named Laila.
The 51-year-old actress revealed all about the new addition to her family in this week’s People magazine and told how adopted son Louis was behind her decision to expand her family.
She said: “Louis spearheaded this whole journey.
“I did remind him that it could be either a brother or a sister and that we would be so lucky to have either one.
“He did specify that he wanted a sibling who has some brown skin.’
The “Blind Side” actress’s live-in boyfriend Bryan Randall, 49, is credited as the photographer for the shoot, which shows the star playing happily with her son Louis and new addition Laila while at ease in their own home.
Sandra revealed how Laila was adopted from the foster care system and had been living with her and Louis for some time before her placement was finalised.
‘I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time,’ said Sandra.
‘When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here.’
Laila, pronounced Lila, joins the family five years after Sandra became a single mother with the adoption of her son following his birth in New Orleans.
In her touching interview, Sandra reveals that she knew she was ready to adopt when her son told friends: ‘I’m gonna have a baby soon. I don’t know its name yet, but it’s coming.’
The devoted parent told the magazine the process felt very much like witness protection, fearing that the adoption would be jeopardised by the fact that she’s a huge star.
