The debut show of American Crime Story: The People V. O.J.Simpson proved to be a huge ratings success drawing in over 5m viewers.
Its been over 20 years since O.J. Simpson went on trial for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and friend Ronald Goldman, but on Tuesday night it was clear the grisly murders are still captivating the American public.
According to Nielsen, the show’s debut on Tuesday was watched by 5.111 million viewers, making it the top show on cable and most watched series premiere ever for FX.
The show is a 10-part series, which follows the arrest and trial of Simpson, stars Cuba Gooding Jr., Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, John Travolta, Connie Britton, David Schwimmer, Selma Blair and Nathan Lane.
The premier episode certainly didn’t hold back as it showed a suicide attempt in Kim Kardashian’s bedroom, explicit details of the gruesome death of the former footballer’s ex-wife and the evidence used against him when he went on trial for her murder.
