Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola has passed away early Thursday morning after a battle with lung and brain cancer. She was 55.
“I am saddened to say that at 3:01 a.m., Ang lost her battle with cancer,” said Jennifer Graziano, creator and executive producer of “Mob Wives.” “She passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family.”
Raiola beat throat cancer last year only to learn this winter the disease had spread to her brain and lungs and despite chemotherapy, her tumors were growing in size.
On Tuesday the larger-than-life reality star bravely appeared on The Dr. Oz show and revealed docs had given her a 30 percent chance of survival.
“It’s shocking what happened,” she said. “First I thought I was cancer-free. I was gonna have a big celebration … and then a month later I was stage 4.”
